Welcome to the world wide website of Bodgeham-on-Wye’s leading trainspotting enthusiast society. We are a group of likeminded Bodgehamites interested in the prospect of observing locomotives.
The group meets every 7th Tuesday in The Caught Try pub, where we raucously chug local ales, scoff pickled turnip and chips, and discuss the prospect of looking observing locomotives. We chat about all aspects of trainspotting, including but not limited to:
The members of Bodgeham Trainspotters meet on an ad-hoc basis to spot trains. It’s a friendly event and all are welcome, whether you have been interested in the prospect of trainspotting for years, or are a newcomer and are curious about the prospect of the prospect of trainspotting. Typically, the group will book a room at The Caught Try pub. An election for the conductor of the Spotting Party is conducted by whistle - the member who blows loudest on their train whistle wins. The conductor will then choose the programme we then go on to watch as a group.
Previous viewing parties have included sightings of:
The film titled “Trainspotting”, by Danny Boyle, and it’s sequel, “Trainspotting 2” are banned by the Bodgeham-on-Wye Trainspotters, for being too scary.
It is hypothesized among the group that if we continue to be interested in the prospect of observing locomotives, we might one day start to consider actually attempting to observe a locomotive in real life. Such hypothesization is pure conjecture, and will be treated with the same skepticism we Bodgehamites reserve for such nonsense as “a non-geodesic earth”, and “right side up”.
